The geophysical methods most used in this field would be electrical and geo-radar GPR.

The main applications are:

• Geological knowledge: Contacts between different materials, layer depth, faults and fractures locations, definition of dips and alteration areas.

• Characterization of mining landfills and mining pools.

• Definition of pollution plumes.

• Detection of potential points of filtering pollutants (faults, breaks...).
